Centro d'Arte la Pescaiola - "Terre ad Arte": Il progetto.

Il progetto "Terre ad Arte" nasce come naturale evoluzione di un processo artistico-organizzativo che ci ha visti impegnati in questi ultimi anni nell'intento di comprendere ed immedesimarci nelle tipiche peculiarità di questo antico territorio, per coniugarle ai vari aspetti delle identità espressivo-artistiche più attuali.
Idee maturate con il tempo, anche e soprattutto attraverso le precedenti iniziative sull'arte contemporanea da noi qui organizzate; dai primi simposi internazionali di scultura, che hanno visto il crearsi di un vissuto e di un'esperienza comune tra artisti e cittadini intorno alla nascita di un'opera d'arte, a "Percorsi Sacri" quando artisti provenienti da varie parti del mondo entrarono all'interno dei luoghi deputati alla sacralità su questi territori, piccole e grandi chiese sparse nei paesi e per le campagne, all'interno delle quali progettare e creare installazioni anche se questa volta attraverso la sacralità dell'arte contemporanea; da quest'ultimo termine, per pura associazione linguistica, torniamo perciò a pensare a "Contemporaneamente", ancora una volta un'insieme di sinergie creative e organizzative che si sono sviluppate sia nelle zone aperte, ossia sulle strade del paese, sia nelle zone più nascoste, sotterranee, quelle della necropoli etrusca di Terricciola, dimensione onirica da riscoprire e valorizzare. Eventi, tutti questi, che hanno visto crescere un fermento comunicativo sul territorio, collocandolo al centro prepositivo delle iniziative culturali sviluppatesi nella provincia di Pisa e suscitando l'interesse e la partecipazione di Enti e Istituzioni regionali.
"Terre ad Arte" vuole essere un omaggio a queste "terre", alle terre che nel pluralismo del gergo popolare che distingue ancora i cittadini terricciolesi, sembrano quasi essere di tutti, poiché tutti qui hanno affondato le mani nelle radici di queste stesse terre per sentirne l'indissolubile appartenenza.
Dire "vado alle terre", significa quasi parlare dei luoghi non circoscritti della natura, è un modo efficace e realistico per descrivere gli ambienti che per le secolari generazioni rurali di Terricciola hanno rappresentato il lavoro, ma anche la fonte della vita da cui attingere in natura ed è uno dei motivi per cui molte aziende adesso tornano.
L'iniziativa ha creato un percorso d'arte contemporanea attivo e permanente, che si sviluppa all'interno di dieci aziende vitivinicole del territorio comunale, alcune delle quali d'importanza internazionale; dove artisti professionisti, di varia nazionalità e natura di linguaggio, sotto la direzione artistica di Renato Baldasserini e la cura critica di Ilario Luperini, sono stati chiamati a progettare e a realizzare in ciascun luogo specifico un'opera d'arte contemporanea a carattere permanente; forse un pretesto per coniugare l'arte dell'intelletto e del fare, con l'arte del buon vivere, per costruire una mappatura sui luoghi dal sapore di buon vino e di cultura, a disegnare una geografia per un percorso che sarà costantemente visitabile.

The project "Terre ad Arte" is born as the natural continuation of an artistic and organisational process that has had us working hard over the last few years in the attempt to understand and empathise with the typical peculiarities of this ancient territory, to combine them with the different aspects of the most topical expressive and artistic identities.
Ideas grown with time, partly or above all due to the earlier contemporary art events that we organised here; from the first international sculpture symposiums which witnessed the creation of shared experiences and events between artists and citizens around the birth of a work of art, to "Percorsi Sacri" when artists coming from different parts of the world entered the sacred places of these territories, small and large churches scattered across the villages and the countryside, inside which they had to create and design installations, even if this time they had to take inspiration from the sacredness of contemporary art; from the latter, by a simple association of words, we go back to "Contemporaneamente", once again a whole group of creative and organisational synergisms that developed in outdoor areas, i.e. on the village roads, and in the innermost areas, the underground areas, the areas of the Etruscan necropolis of Terricciola, a dreamlike dimension to be rediscovered and promoted.
All of these are events that have been a hotbed of communication for the territory, placing it at the proactive centre of the cultural events that have been developed within the province of Pisa and attracting the interest and involvement of regional bodies and institutions.
"Terre ad Arte" means to be a tribute to these "lands", the lands that in the pluralism of the local dialect, which is still the distinctive trait of the population of Terricciola, look as if they were 'everybody's lands', because everybody here has thrust his hands in the roots of these lands to feel inseparably belonging to them.
Saying "I am going to the lands" means nearly to be speaking of the blurred places of nature, it is an effective and realistic way of describing the places that for the centuries-old farmers' generations of Terricciola have meant work, as well as the source of life, from which they could naturally draw, and this is one of the reasons why many businesses are now coming back.
The event led to the development of a proactive, permanent contemporary art trail through ten wine-making farms within the municipal area, some of which are known all over the world; where professional artists of different nationalities and speaking different languages, under the artistic direction of Renato Baldasserini and the care of Ilario Luperini, have been called to design and make a permanent work of contemporary art in every single place; perhaps an excuse to match the art of the intellect and the ability to do things with the art of living the good life, to map the places that taste of good wine and culture, to draw a geography for a trail which will be permanently open to visitors.
